Enable Slack browser notifications
When you clear cache and sign back in, you may see this:
Click the link on the bottom that says "enable desktop notifications."
Next, on the pop up, click "enable" and "allow." If that was successful, you will see this in the bottom right corner of Chrome:
If that does not work, you may need to:
Delete cache in Chrome then sign back into Slack.If that does not bring up the Slack Notifications prompt, you may need to sign out of your profile in Chrome and sign back in:
Sign out and back in to your Chrome profile
Sign back in to Slack and you should then see the "enable desktop notifications" on the bottom right.
If that does not work, check the following settings:
Click your icon in the bottom left, in preferences, make sure notifications are enabled.
To ensure your notifications are enabled in Chrome:
Click the 3 dots in the top right corner and go to "Options" and "Site settings"
Click the magnifying glass on the top and type "notifications"
Click on "notifications" under permissions
Ensure "Sites can ask to send notifications" is checked
Click "add" on the "allowed to send notifications" area, and add: app.slack.com
