Setup Okta Verify - Multifactor Authentication (MFA)
Multifactor Authentication is required to sign in to PH TECH systems. This guide will walk you through setting up Okta Verify for the first time.
Install the "Okta Verify" App
From the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store, search for "Okta Verify".
Sign in using the username and temporary password that was emailed to you via the PH TECH secure message center.
Note: The email may appear in your spam/junk folder, subject: "PH TECH Account Setup Instructions"
If you are unable to locate the email that contains your username and password, please call the PH TECH Service Desk at (503) 584-6414 for assistance.
Setup your PH TECH Password
You will use this password to login to your computer.
Setup a Security Question and Answer
This is used for account unlocks and password resets.
Setup Okta Verify
Tap "Setup" under the Okta Verify option.
You will be asked to select a method for receiving the setup link. Select "Text me a setup link" and then tap "Next"
Enter your cell phone number and tap "Send me the setup link".
Select "Text me a setup link"
You will be asked to select a method for receiving the setup link.
Select "Text me a setup link" and then tap "Next"
Enter your cell phone number and tap "Send me the setup link".
Complete Okta Verify Setup
The setup link text message will open in the Okta Verify app.
Follow the remaining steps in Okta Verify to complete the setup
Select "Get Started"
Enable Face ID or other biometric factor
Done! You have now successfully setup Okta Verify
Optional: Setup SMS Phone Authentication
Backup SMS authentication will allow you to re-setup multifactor verification on a new mobile device if necessary.
