Outlook Public Folders
The Public Folders in Outlook have been exported from Outlook and have been imported into Google as Google Groups. They are listed in the Google Directory by the main folder name they were listed as in Outlook. For example, the Medicare public folder is named "Medicare (Outlook Public Folder)".
To open a Outlook Public Folder Google Group, open the Google Directory app in Okta or click the icon below.
Then, simply search for the name of the old Public Folder name you are looking for:
**Only Managers, Supervisors and some leads currently have access to the Outlook Public Folder Google Groups. If you need access to a specific Group, please contact your manager, and they can grant you access to the Group.
Managing Google Groups (Outlook Public Folders) for Managers/Supervisors (Owners):
Once you are in the Google Directory, there are a few tasks you can perform to view and manage your Google Groups (Email Lists).
To MANAGE one of your Google Groups (Outlook Public Folder), click on "My groups" on the left, and then, click "Manage" below the Google Group (Outlook Public Folder) you want to manage.
To ADD a member to a Google Group (Outlook Public Folder), click "Direct add members" on the left.
From there, enter the user's name at the top, and then select their name when it pops up. Continue adding as many members as you'd like.
Under the "Email subscription options", select "No email: web-only participation", as these Google Group (Outlook Public Folders) are no longer used.
To REMOVE a member from a Google Group (Outlook Public Folder), click on "All members" on the left.
Then, select the members you would like to remove.
Next, click on "Actions" at the top, and then select "Remove from group".
