Adding Microsoft Authenticator for Providence MFA

Click here to login into your Providence account as you normally would.

Once you are logged in, click on Add method.

On the next screen, ensure Authenticator app is selected and then click Add.

You will be prompted to download the Microsoft Authenticator onto your phone. Do so now from the App Store or the Google Play Store and then click Next.

If prompted in the Microsoft Authenticator, allow notifications. Then add an account, and select "Work or school". Then, click Next.

Scan the QR code on your screen to add your account. Do not scan the QR code below in this Helpdoc.

Approve the notification on your phone to finish up the Microsoft Authenticator setup! Click Next to finish!

You should now have the Microsoft Authenticator setup in your account. You can change your default sign-in option to the Microsoft Authenticator. Also, if you want to remove your old MFA option, like your cell phone number, you can do that from here as well.

If you do want to change your default sign-in method, click Change and select Microsoft Authenticator - notification. Then, click Confirm.
