PH TECH Google Shared Drive FAQ
You can use Shared drives in Google Drive to store, search, and access files across organizations. Shared drive files belong to the entire group instead of an individual. Even if members leave, the files stay in place so you can keep sharing information.
Before you begin
In order to collaborate with PH TECH, all external users must link their corporate email address with Google first.
Requesting access to a PH TECH Shared drive
If you are working with a PH TECH caregiver, they can request that you be granted access to a specific Shared drive on your behalf. If you know the name of the Shared drive, you can also use the form below to request access to a Shared drive yourself.
How to access Shared drives
Navigate to https://drive.google.com in your web browser, and sign in with your corporate email address if prompted. You may need to reach out to your organization’s IT department if you are unable to sign in to Google Drive.
Once you’ve been granted access to a Shared drive, it will appear in the list of Shared drives located on the left of your Google Drive.
Newly uploaded and edited documents will be instantly viewable to anyone who has access to the Shared drive.
What type of content am I allowed to upload to Google Shared drives?
Protected Health Information (PHI) can be stored in Shared drives, but it's important to remember that the information will be viewable by everyone who has access to the Shared drive.
Followed the steps above and still can't access Google Shared drives?
Click your profile icon in the upper-right, and ensure that you are signed in with the correct email address in your browser and "Sync is on".
If Sync has not been turned, click the "Turn on sync..." button.
Navigate back to https://drive.google.com and your Google Shared drives will show up on the left.
