Multifactor Authentication (MFA) - Google Authenticator

Google Authenticator is installed as a Chrome extension for all users at PH TECH, and can also be installed on your phone from the app store. To setup MFA in Okta with Google Authenticator, start by going to https://phtech.okta.com.

Click your name at the top of the page, and then click Settings:

Then, click Edit Profile:

Verfiy your account:

In the Extra Verification section, click Setup next to Google Authenticator Mobile App:

Select your type of phone (Either iOS or Andriod) and hit next. If setting up Okta Verify using the Chrome extension, select "Android". This will provide you with a QR code:

For Google Authenticator on a phone or mobile device, open the app and tap the plus button in the bottom right, and then select ":Scan a QR Code":

You should then be able to scan the QR code on your computer screen to add an entry in the Google Authenticator app. You will then be asked to verify the set up by entering the 6 digit code from the app:

This should complete the Google Authenticator set up. You can now enter the 6 digit code from the Google Authenticator app whenever prompted for Okta MFA.

For Google Authenticator extension in your Chrome browser, click the pencil in the upper-right:
