Printing From Home

We have two printers that can be sent home with caregivers that can be used to print documents that need to be mailed, in the event of a disaster. 

The most common scenario is our Hawthorne office loses power for an extended period of time.

General Instructions:

• Connect printer to Chromebook. It is recognized automatically.

• Log into CIM from the Chromebook (NOT from inside workspaces).

• Run the mailing reports. They will end up in Downloads on the Chromebook.

• Upload the .docx file into your Google Drive. If you try to open the .docx file straight from the Chrome downloads, it will open up in ‘Basic Word Doc Editor’ mode and the formatting will be wrong.

• Open the .docx file from your Google Drive.

• Print the .docx file to the Brother printer. Remove header and footer or you will see file names and paths on the print outs.

• The Brother printer will print double-side. We tested this and it worked.
