Installing Software
ITHelpDoc gives you a brief overview of what installing software at PH TECH looks like.
Installing software onto a PH TECH workstation is only allowed for caregivers that have a local admin account.
These local admin accounts are only created for caregivers in the IT division that have a business need for installing software or running scripts.
If you need a local admin account, please contact Service Desk to request one.
Software installations will require you to enter your local admin credentials.
During the software installation process, our Panda anti-virus software may block the program from installing.
Running the software installation again should give you the ability to allow the installation to continue.
If you find that you need to allow files from the same folder on a more frequent basis, you can whitelist files or folder paths in Panda.
This should also allow scripts to run without being blocked.
If none of the steps above work, Panda services can be stopped from running and no software installations or scripts will be blocked from running.
Stopping Panda services should be used as a last resort.
Leaving a workstation unprotected without anti-virus running can be potentially dangerous.
Once your script or software installation has been completed, please remember to start the Panda services back up again!
