How to Create an SSH Account
Login to SFTP
Select Users > Add User
Add user info:Â
Username
Full Name
Email Address
Email Notifications: On
Permission: User
Authentication Method: MOVEit Only
Password Delivery: Set password now
Use Suggested Password (you will NOT email this to the client)
Un-Check: Force user to change password at first login
Home Folder: leave as default: "/home/Users/[USERNAME]"
Add notes : CompanyX SSH Account
Add group membership: CompanyX
Update User Profile Settings
User Authentication
Password > Change Password
Password Aging Policy: Exempt
Change Password Permissions
Prohibit user from requesting automatic password changes
Yes (this prevents user from logging into an SSH account with a standard username/password)
SSH Server > SSH Policy
SSH Client Key Required: Yes
User Settings
Default Folder > Change Default Folder
In the search box, type the name of the entity/organization and click "Change Default Folder"
Select the folder that corresponds to the name of the entity/organization
(This will help the entity/organization by making this folder the very first folder they see when connecting with their SSH client or automated process)
You can now follow procedures to import the client provided public SSH key.
